Farewell Flying Fred Weare

It is a sad time when we have to say goodbye to one of our own. Flying Fred "Mr March" Weare sadly passed away suddenly on Tuesday 18th April. He was one of our longest club members and will be missed greatly. Our condolences to his wife Penny and the family

Fred's funeral was held in his home town of Lancing, West Sussex on Tuesday 9th May. There was a procession of bikes following the cars, 9 bikes in total, mainly Indians with the odd Harley thrown in. The sun was shining for Fred's final journey. We were all invited to Fred's favourite lakeside café afterwards, where stories of his many exploits and jokes were remembered. Fred liked a good joke and always had something interesting in his pocket to show you.

Fred Weare was an active member of the Indian Riders Club for over 25 years along with Penny, his wife.
The sudden death of Fred was very sad news for all of us.

Fred was best known as Mr March the Flying Slug on our very successful Bare Bum calendar. He never hesitated when we asked him to pose and help sell the calendar. He also sat on guard keeping an eye on our Indians when we were at the shows, answering questions and promoting the club.
He will be sorely missed by all of us. Our deepest sympathy goes to Penny.
